Open Call / Participate

3rd – 22nd June 2014

Festival Hub Open Call

If you have an idea for a performance that relates to the festival programme and that you’d like to bring people to, please send a short description and any supporting material by email to info[at] by 30 April. It could be a poetry reading, a small music concert, a discussion, a theatre play reading or some other performance event.

A selection of works will be presented as part of an ongoing programme to take place around the city for the duration of the festival.

The “open call” programme cannot offer financial support other than possible donations from each event. With the support of ArcadeCardiff we intend to provide a supportive and stimulating environment for new works and ideas to be presented.

A full listing of the International Performance Festival Cardiff Open Call Programme will be announced by 20 May.

If you would like to get involved in the festival some other way, as a volunteer, writer, critic, producing assistant, please do get in touch.

The festival provides an opportunity to engage with artists whose works in some way extend notions of the possibilities of art, as developed from a sense of place, social change or community. From February this year, festival director James Tyson has been leading a weekly workshop/discussion/study group for local practitioners, artists, audiences and students to explore some of the ideas of the festival, as well as try out or observe potential models for making work, whether individually or collaboratively.

To join in the group please write a short email of interest to info[at]
